Skate For Your Life
by Leo Baker

View in Library Catalog

This book is part of the Pocket Change Collective book series from Penguin Random House. According to their website, "Pocket Change Collective is a series of small books with big ideas from today’s leading activists and artists." This entry provides a brief outline of Leo Baker's realization that they identify as trans-masculine as well as their journey in the realm of professional skateboarding. While I really don't follow sports, I appreciated Leo sharing their story and struggles. I'm looking forward to reading more from this non-fiction series.

Beyond The Gender Binary
by Alok Vaid-Menon

View in Library Catalog

I think this title was the first release for the Pocket Change Collective series. Alok Vaid-Menon gives a brief, but incredibly insightful look into their journey of realization as a gender-nonconforming person. In addition, they take apart many arguments that cis-gendered people make in defense of the binary and the status quo. I highly recommend this little book to get a better understanding of gender-noncomformity and the struggles many have against people that want to deny their existence.

Gmorning, Gnight!
by Lin-Manuel Miranda

This has become a comfort read for me. Gmorning, Gnight! is a warm hug of a book, filled with so many inspirational and encouraging messages Lin-Manuel Miranda posted on his Twitter feed. This book is something to hold onto for those days when things just aren't going right. Let it be a friend on your bookshelf, always at the ready to be picked up to give you the pep talk you need. It's even better when you hear Miranda himself narrate it. I highly recommend this!

The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich
by Deya Muniz

View in Library Catalog

This graphic novel is an absolute delight! Upon the death of her father, Lady Camembert decides to live her life as a man and, upon meeting Princess Brie, a friendship blossoms into potential romance with hilarity and grilled cheese sandwiches all around (I know this sounds off the wall, but trust me - it's good!). There are so many literal cheesy puns and the art style really compliments the characters, the humor, and the story line. There's nothing racy in the pages, so anyone from middle-grade age to adult can enjoy it.

Marked By Werewolves

This is a three book series in one book. This is so good, suspense, drama and a lot of love.
